TPMS Sensor FAQs

A TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) sensor monitors the pressure within a vehicle’s tyres. The system can alert the driver when tyre pressure falls below the required level, helping maintain correct tyre pressures and supporting tyre safety and performance.

Bartec Auto ID offers programmable replacement TPMS sensors, including the Rite-Sensor® RS1000 and Rite-SensorBlue® RS3000. The RS3000 is available with Silver, Graphite and Black clamp-in stems.

The Rite-Sensor® RS1000 is Bartec’s programmable, single-part aftermarket replacement TPMS sensor. It is designed for compatibility with both OE and aftermarket wheels without requiring adjustment.

A programmable TPMS sensor is an aftermarket replacement sensor that can be configured for compatible vehicle applications using a suitable TPMS programming tool. This allows workshops to cover multiple vehicle applications with a smaller range of replacement sensors.

The RS1000 is Bartec’s programmable replacement TPMS sensor and comes assembled with a rubber snap-in valve, with an optional aluminium clamp-in stem included. The Rite-SensorBlue® RS3000 is available with Silver, Graphite or Black clamp-in stems and comes pre-programmed with current model-year coverage for Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model Y and Model X vehicles.

Bartec's programmable TPMS sensors can be programmed for compatible vehicle applications. The Rite-SensorBlue® RS3000 can also be programmed to add new make, model and year (MMY) coverage.

TPMS sensor compatibility depends on the sensor and the vehicle make, model and year. Because vehicle and sensor coverage can change, the appropriate application and current coverage should be checked before fitting a replacement TPMS sensor.

The Rite-SensorBlue® RS3000 comes pre-programmed with current MMY coverage for Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model Y and Model X vehicles.

Programmable TPMS sensors require compatible equipment to programme the sensor for the required vehicle application. Bartec Auto ID provides a range of TPMS diagnostic and programming tools designed to support TPMS servicing and sensor replacement.

A TPMS sensor may need replacing if it has stopped communicating, has been damaged, develops a valve or component fault, or its internal battery reaches the end of its service life. A TPMS diagnostic tool can help technicians identify sensor-related faults before replacement.

TPMS sensors generally contain sealed internal batteries. When the battery reaches the end of its usable life, the complete sensor will normally need to be replaced rather than simply replacing the battery.

Depending on the vehicle, a replacement TPMS sensor may need to be programmed and/or relearned to the vehicle after installation. The correct procedure varies by vehicle manufacturer and model.
