The 2.15 Million MOT Fails Tyre Crisis Nobody Talks About

In the years 2023-24, it was reported that over 2.15 million UK vehicles failed their annual MOT due to ‘tyre defects’ (according to DVSA data published on the Gov website).

Tick any of the below, and the vehicle falls into this MOT failure category:

• Tread depth
• Damage
• Underinflation
• Tyres deemed as “Dangerous condition”

And in this instance, points do not make prizes. Year on year, the data has risen exponentially, uncovering a serious nationwide maintenance problem.
