Final Line Description

  • Tire and Wheel Assemblies are delivered to the Final line on the Tire and Wheel Conveyor (1).
  • An operator or automation loads and secures the tire and wheels to the vehicle (2)
  • TPMS Reader (3) Antennas are mounted on each side of the Final Line. As the vehicle passes, the TPMS sensor is activated and then the TPMS ID is transmitted from the sensor to the TPMS Reader (3).
    • This information can either be stored on a local PC for use further downstream in the Write Station or it can be uploaded to the Plant Information System where it can later be retrieved by the Write Station.
  • Immediately after the TPMS Reader (3) is the Spare Tire Reader (4). If the vehicle has a TPMS sensor in the wheel, an operator uses a handheld scanner to get the TPMS ID and upload it to the PC or the Plant Information System.
    • This station can also be used to read any TPMS sensor that was missed in the TPMS Reader (3) Station.
  • An operator loads the diagnostic plug into the vehicle diagnostic port at the TPMS Write Station (5). Information from the PC or from the Plant Information System is uploaded to the vehicle ECU.
    • This process can be done using a handheld unit that has a diagnostic plug on it. Data is sent to the handheld reader and held in a stack until required for the process.
    • As an option, the write station can be at the Roll Test Machine using it's ECU link.
  • If a problem exists in reading or writing the TPMS sensor, the vehicle is sent to the Heavy Repair Station. Here an operator uses a handheld reader to obtain the TPMS ID's for each wheel.
    • If the handheld reader has a diagnostic port, the operator uploads the information to the ECU.
