The system - how it works

The system enables the inspector to log in using his RFID name badge. It then guides him through the inspection with a series of voice and visual prompts. He identifies the vehicle with the RFID Probe reader and then commences the automated tyre data collection process using the Probe to capture pressure and tread depth readings against the respective wheel positions. The mileage of the vehicle is entered and the data is transmitted directly to a host computer. Routines on the mobile phone enable the user to do inspections, inspector audits and to establish new vehicles. The inspector can identify urgent actions and these can be texted or emailed to designated depot management before the vehicle leaves with problem tyres. Operational Sequence

Step1. The inspector logs in using his RFID badge.

Step2. The vehicle RFID tag is read to identify the vehicle and its wheel format.

Step 3. Take tread depth readings as required using the Probe.

Step 4. Take Pressure reading using the Probe. Data communicated by Bluetooth to phone.

Step 5. (optional) Use camera phone to take picture of excessive damage

Step 6. Key mileage, and select corrective actions and their urgency into phone and send data to host tyre management system.
