Bartec Auto ID Limited was formed in 1992 and remains a private limited company solely owned by its Directors. It is a market leading supplier of Radio Frequency systems, specializing in Tire Pressure Monitoring Tools and systems for both production plants and aftermarket. Bartec Auto ID Limited is the world leader in Tire Pressure Monitoring Tools and Systems, having installed over 73 plants worldwide and supplied tens of thousands of TPMS dealer tools.
Plant systems include:
- Installation of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS) into wheels
- Verification that the TPM sensor is working.
- Automatically reading the TPM ID's on the vehicle production line
- Logging the TPM ID's to a database
- Uploading the TPM ID's to the plant host computer
- Writing to the Engine Control Unit through the bus

- Verifying the quality of the TPMS system before it leaves the assembly plant
Working with its distribution partners Bartec has supplied its range of dealer tools for the activation and diagnostic test of TPMs in wheels. The range includes models designed for franchised dealers, non-franchised dealers and tyre companies.
Customers include Ford, Daimler Chrysler, GM, Mitsubishi, Renault, Volvo, Nissan, Subaru, Isuzu, Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, BMW, Mercedes and wheel manufacturers and assemblers across the world.
Bartec Auto ID Limited is also a leading edge designer and supplier of commercial vehicle tyre management systems, RFID readers, vehicle satellite tracking systems and other tyre and vehicle technology products. The company has offices in the US and Europe, manufacturing in Barnsley and Coventry in the UK and Shenzen Province in China and a network of agents and partners throughout the world.
In March 2003 Bartec Auto ID Limited acquired the business of Oyster Terminals Limited in Coventry. Oyster has been in business for 23 years and brings with it a history of high quality portable terminal manufacture.
In June 2006 Bartec Auto ID Limited merged with Bartec Systems Limited, thereby acquiring the systems expertise of this company and it's fast growing Waste Management Systems business. In October 2006 Bartec Auto ID limited bought the tyre management business of Smartronics Limited from NMR PLC.
