Bartec Auto ID Ltd was formed in 1992 and remains a private limited company solely owned by its Directors. It is a market leading supplier of Radio Frequency systems, specialising in Tyre Pressure Monitoring Tools and systems for both production plants and aftermarket. Bartec Auto ID Ltd is the world leader in Tyre Pressure Monitoring Tools and Systems, having installed over 80 plants worldwide and supplied tens of thousands of TPMS dealer tools.
In 2004 the company dominated the market for TPMS in North America and Bartec USA LLC was formed to supply the support for our growing list of US plant customers and develop partnerships for the supply and support of our range of aftermarket tools. The company was quickly successful in securing major contracts for the supply of tools to franchised and non-franchised dealers, tyre shops and many other outlets with several thousand tools supplied.

Plant systems include:
- Installation of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS) into wheels
- Verification that the TPM sensor is working.
- Automatically reading the TPM IDs on the vehicle production line
- Logging the TPM IDs to a database
- Uploading the TPM IDs to the plant host computer

Working with its distribution partners Bartec Auto ID Ltd has supplied its range of dealer tools for the activation and diagnostic test of TPMs in wheels. The range includes models designed for franchised dealers, non-franchised dealers and Tyre companies.
Customers include Ford, Chrysler, GM, Mitsubishi, Renault, Volvo, Nissan, Subaru, Isuzu, Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, BMW, Mercedes and wheel manufacturers and assemblers across the world. Our tools are designed to activate and decode all TPMS sensors on the market.
Bartec Auto ID Ltd is also a leading edge designer and supplier of commercial vehicle Tyre management systems, RFID readers, vehicle satellite tracking systems and other Tyre and vehicle technology products. The company has offices in the US and Europe, manufacturing in Barnsley and Coventry in the UK and Shenzen Province in China and a network of agents and partners throughout the world.
In March 2003 Bartec Auto ID Ltd acquired the business of Oyster Terminals Limited in Coventry. Oyster has been in business for 23 years and brings with it a history of high quality portable terminal manufacture.
In April 2005 the company was privileged to receive the Queen's Award for Enterprise. This award is a recognition of the tremendous team effort by all at Bartec Auto ID Ltd innovating, listening to customers and bringing great products and technical support to our customers worldwide. The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance.
In June 2006 Bartec Auto ID Ltd merged with Bartec Systems Limited, thereby acquiring the systems expertise of this company and it's fast growing Waste Management Systems business. In October 2006 Bartec Auto ID Ltd bought the Tyre management business of Smartronics Limited from NMR PLC.
